A being from another world crashed onto sweltering sand. The sensation beneath his feet reminded him much of his homeland. He gazed at ocean as rays of sun twinkled upon each wave. It was a dangerous trip to travel to an untouched planet, but curiosity always overcomes reason. From his pocket he drew a black cube. He set it upon the sand and watched as it expanded and reached the height of his waist. Two half spears protruded and he placed a hand on each. I find myself Crying again. Almost as if the thought of disappointing someone makes my wrists throb. Why do I care so much How others see me. Even those who hurt me the most Cause my fists to clench. And those who truly care, Their pain pierces through my body, First taking a hold of my throat Before placing a firm grip on my heart. A Final Bath

As my body is immersed in water my hair blooms beneath me veins separate and surge forth leaving a lacy, crimson web in their wake. A thick miasma comes over me promising to warm my face and exposed limbs and that a taste would send me to bliss. So, open wide and let it in. It tries to slither through my sealed lips. In frustration it pries me open then fills my unwilling mouth and forces me to choke and suffocate. And then my thrashing reminds me... of why I am here.

The books in the library decided it was time for me to go home. Their pages blurred, keeping me from comprehending even one sentence. The clock starred at the back of my head. It was 2:00 AM. I still love you. I only said those things so you wouldn't see just how much your rejection hurt me. And for a while I was able to push down any thoughts or memories of you and lock them away. But yesterday from nothing, out of nowhere, I missed your embrace. And the thoughts took me aback. In my stunned silence I began to feel tears run down my cheeks. For the first time I couldn't sleep. I'm a junior at Michigan State University studying International Affairs and Chinese. I've always been interested in learning languages and using them to connect with people across the world. Humanity in international politics is lacking and I hope to restore it. I will strive to promote legislation, treaties, and words instead of bloodshed and war. The Cost of Education

    As many Americans know college education has a high price in this country.  In another week and a half I would have a spent a full year in college and and am already finding myself in immense debt.  What's worse is that I could barely afford to go to my college this year.  But, luckily, I have an incredible, selfless aunt who was able to take out  a loan for me.  So, now on top of paying her back for her benevolence I have to worry about federal loans as well.    This situation has been bothering me for quite some time, but today seemed to be the breaking point for me.  I am so filled with ambition and a need to do great things in the w
